Ministry Mission
Our mission is to : Believe the Gospel, Obey God’s Word, and Make Disciples
Rom.1:16
For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.

1 Tim. 4:12
Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.
Youth are meant to KNOW the One who created them and to seek His purpose in their life. God LONGS for their heart – every perfection and imperfection, every scar and joy, every inch of it.
And their heart longs and hopes for God – it hungers for His Word. We believe that our heart can only be satisfied in God and when it is, we are SOLD OUT for God.
We want the Youth to know Jesus and to glorify Him in all they do. We will assist and guide them to genuinely know God and experience His love.

We believe that parents are the main spiritual leaders in their children’s lives. Everything that we hope to accomplish in this ministry – everything we hope to do – begins and ends with partnering with the parents and supporting their efforts.

What We Do
During the school year, we meet every Sunday night from 6-8 PM.
While Sunday School is focused on Bible Study and practically applying it to our lives (learn more here) and AWANA is focused on internalizing verses of the Bible and equipping us to share the Good News of Christ (learn more here), Sunday night, then, is the time we come together to focus on our relationship with God and His relationship with us. Both Junior and Senior High combine during this time to learn from and grow with each other.

We do this in a few ways:

Worship: This is a time for students to connect with God. Worship touches heart, mind, and soul - it is the complete overflowing who they know God to be and the truths they learn during their Bible study. Worship is essential to a thriving youth ministry and so we place prominence on this every Sunday night.

Devotion: After worship, we enter into a time of Bible Study that focuses on guiding the student's growing knowledge of and relationship with God. We want to help them build a foundation for sustained growth past the youth ministry and equip them to share their faith and the Gospel with their peers. Pastors, Elders, Adult Leaders, and Student Leaders all assist in leading these devotions together.

Real Talk: After our devotion, we break up into smaller groups to dive deeper into what we just learned or into a topic with which the students are dealing. Anxiety, depression, bullying, and what to do after graduation are just a few things that are pressuring our students. This is a time to ask questions in a safe and non-judgmental place. Depending on topic, we break into age and gender appropriate groups.

Game Time: After Real Talk, we enjoy a snack and play a game together. In other words, we eat delicious food, have fun, and grow relationships through a little competition. This winds down a little after 8 PM depending on parent pick-ups.
Outside the Walls
The CBC Youth Ministry does not stay within the walls of the church. We embrace the word by learning, living and sharing in our homes, our church, our schools, our community and our world. Presenting the Gospel of Jesus Christ in our everyday lives is essential to our walk with God. We host a variety of other events and ministries through our Youth Ministry.
We always have something going on that the Youth can do - Prayer Breakfasts, Missions, and more! To find out about all of them, click here.
