On Friday, we concluded our annual Vacation Bible School. What an amazing week we had! We had 180 kids show up, along with 70 volunteers. Thank you, all! A very special shoutout to Katelyn Todd, Katelyn McPeck, and Samantha Schuetzle for leading this massive operation. They did an absolutely incredible job. And remember, church family: these three sisters in Christ have young kids themselves. Busy with kids at home and at church! Thank you, ladies. Also, thank you to Charles, Connor, and Graham for encouraging your brides to serve.

The goal in all of this is to plant gospel seeds in the hearts of these precious children. I remember my time at VBS as a young boy. I’m still reaping the benefits of the ministry of VBS some thirty years later. God does the same for others. Through songs, crafts, games, Bible lessons, and simply having fun, the children this week were taught about the wonder of Jesus Christ. Gracious Father, use our efforts to lead these children to the loving arms of Christ our Lord in the power of the Holy Spirit.

My highlight? The closing ceremony—not getting pied in the face (ha-ha!) but when the children sang. In the sanctuary, we had a bunch of kids proclaiming the gospel through song. Seeing all this made me know: God is on the move, church family, and He’s using our church to accomplish those tremendous purposes. Life can become so upside down sometimes, confusing and distressing. Here’s the silver lining thru the craziness: “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you” (Matt 6:33). We thank you and praise you, our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, for the privilege and honor you give us in serving you at your beloved church, CBC.
