This election places Christians in a tough spot, yet the contrast between the two parties is so stark that it is clear to me how Christians should vote—namely, for the least worse option. Regardless of how Nov. 5th turns out, though, I remain gravely concerned for our nation.

Remember the Moral Majority of the 1980s, led by Jerry Falwell? This coalition advanced uniquely Christian values: defending the unborn, opposing the homosexual agenda, and promoting prayer in schools. Sadly, these values are missing in the 2024 Republican platform. Regarding abortion, the current platform states, “We will oppose Late Term Abortion, while supporting mothers and policies that advance Prenatal Care, access to Birth Control, and IVF (fertility treatments).” This is a pro-choice statement, with no mention of protecting life from conception. Also, the 2016 Republican platform affirmed, “Traditional marriage and family, based on marriage between one man and one woman, is the foundation for a free society and has for millennia been entrusted with rearing children and instilling cultural values.” That language has been removed from the 2024 Republican platform, signaling a pivot away from a biblical sexual ethic. Finally, listen to this statement from a news outlet: “While God was mentioned 15 times in the 2016 [GOP] platform, He [“God”] drew just one mention in this year’s [2024] document.”

Over the past decade, moral righteousness has become a peripheral concern within the GOP. Proverbs 14:34 states, “Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin condemns any people.” A secure border, a thriving economy, and a powerful military cannot protect our nation from the judgment of the Almighty. What we desperately need is not just political reform, but heartfelt, God-exalting revival. No politician can save us—only Christ can. Yes, do vote, but most importantly seek the Lord’s renewal for our nation.

Technology and the Bible

Any given Sunday, those attending church come to worship God and hear His Word taught. Most bring their own Bible. Some of us carry a printed Bible to church; others follow along on a tablet or phone.
