Purpose: To assist in advancing the mission of Community Bible Church—“to know Christ and to make Him known“—by serving the Worship Team in overseeing, planning, and participating in the Sunday morning worship.

Qualifications: The Worship Director will model godly qualities that are consistent with standards set forth in Scripture for such a leader (1 Tim 3:1–7 and Titus 1:5–9). Teachability, flexibility, and a willingness to work with others are necessary qualities as well.

Oversight: The Worship Director is supervised by the Senior Pastor and is accountable to the Elder Board. The Senior Pastor, in consultation with the other staff and the Elder Board, will conduct an annual performance evaluation and review at the beginning of each calendar year.

Salary/Benefits: The position is a part-time position with a salary of $20/hour dependent upon qualifications of applicant. The expectation will be that the Worship Director will work anywhere between 10 to 20 hours per week. No benefits—which includes paid vacation, sick leave, or health insurance—will be given for this position.

Responsibilities: If not a member, the individual will become a member of Community Bible Church, submit to leadership, and be knowledgeable of and adhere to Scripture, the church constitution, doctrinal statement, policies, and core values of CBC. The Worship Director will select songs and music for Sunday morning services in consultation with the Senior Pastor to ensure a coherence of the worship experience in view of the Sunday morning sermon. Also, the Director shall participate in Sunday morning worship. Further, the Worship Director will recruit, train, assist, and oversee volunteer participation in the Worship Team, which includes the planning of all worship related music. Attendance at weekly Worship Team practices on Thursday evenings is also required. He or she shall attend weekly staff meetings which usually occur every week on Wednesdays at 11am, along with meeting with the Senior Pastor on other occasions to plan Sunday morning worship. Occasions might also arise when the Worship Director would need to attend Elder meetings.
